Barberry (Berberis
vulgaris, dried root). As a bitter tonic, helps
resolve indigestion and poor appetite. It improves nutrition
by stimulating digestion, absorption and assimilation.
Helpful for acne, psoriasis, herpes flare-ups and eczema,
especially when these conditions are accompanied by
constipation. Improves liver function. Also very useful
in parasitic infection, especially giardia.
Dose: As a bitter tonic, take 5 drops
ten minutes before each meal. For other uses, take 10-20
drops three times a day.
Contraindications: Not in
pregnancy
Bionic
Tonic (Red Ginseng/Fo-ti Complex). Helps
you stay awake, alert and mentally clear. Useful when driving,
studying, doing a task over and over, or when you need to
be alert, bushy-tailed and fully alive. Great as a mid-morning
or mid-afternoon pick-me-up. Contains no caffeine or Ephedra
(Ma Huang).
Ingredients: Chinese Kirin Red Ginseng,
Fo-ti, Gotu Kola, Siberian Eleuthero, Damiana, Cultivated
American Ginseng, Licorice, Prickly Ash berry, Peppermint,
Ginger, Cayenne.
Dose: Take 15-30 drops mid-morning, mid-
afternoon, or other times as a pick-me-up.
Contraindications: Not in pregnancy.
Side effects: May cause insomnia.
Black
Cohosh (Cimicifuga racemosa, dried root).
For dull aching pains without acute inflammation in joints,
muscles or uterus. For weak, irregular uterine contractions
during labor or for after-birth pains. Useful for menopausal
women experiencing hot flashes and depression.
Dose: Take 10-20 drops every four hours.
Contraindications: Not
during the first seven months of pregnancy. Do not
use while breast-feeding.
Side effects: Excessive
use may cause occasional gastrointestinal discomfort,
mild frontal headache, dizziness, impaired vision, vertigo,
nausea, vomiting, and/or impaired circulation. 
Black
Walnut (Juglans nigra, fresh "green" hull).
For eczema, acne, lichen, candida, intestinal distress,
diarrhea, chronic scaly skin diseases and inflammation of
the mouth, throat and stomach.
Dose: Take 10-20 drops up to three times
a day. Not for long term use.
Externally: As a wash, one teaspoon of the extract in half a cup
of boiled water. Apply when water cools.
Warning: Not for
prolonged use. 
Blueberry (Vaccinium
spp., fresh leaf). Useful for adult onset diabetes, the
type that can be controlled by diet. Lowers elevated blood
sugar level. Increases uric acid elimination and relieves
gout. Stops diarrhea, especially in children.
Dose: Take 20-30 drops after meals.
Warning: Not useful
in insulin-dependent diabetes.
Blue
Cohosh (Caulophyllum thalictroides,
dried root). Use for menstrual cramps when dull pains extend
to buttocks and back of legs. Facilitates childbirth when
delay in labor is due to weakness, fatigue or lack of uterine
power.
Dose: Take 5-15 drops up to four times
a day.
Contraindications: Not
during the first seven months of pregnancy.
Side effects: May
cause mid-cycle spotting and cramping in sensitive women.
