Licorice (Chinese) (Glycyrrhiza
glabra, dried root). Effective adrenal gland support.
For gastric ulcers, bronchial spasms, sore throats, painful
menstruation, arthritis or herpes. Offers support in AIDS
as research suggests it may inhibit the virus. Also has
mild anti-inflammatory, antihistaminic and laxative properties.
Dose: Take 20-30 drops up to three times
a day.
Contraindications: Not
in pregnancy or while breast-feeding and in hypokalemia
(low blood potassium level), or when high blood pressure
from sodium retention is present.
Side effects: Large
amounts over an extended period of time may cause high
blood pressure, water retention, headache, and vertigo.
Warning: May potentiate
potassium depletion of thiazide diuretics, stimulant laxatives,
cardiac glycosides or cortisol. Prolonged use is not recommended. 
Liver
Tonic (Milk Thistle/Oregon Grape Complex).
Protects and repairs the liver. Relieves liver and gall
bladder pain that may occur after excessive ingestion of
fatty foods, alcohol, coffee and chocolate. Should be taken
by people exposed to aromatic hydrocarbons, solvents, paints,
thinners, etc. Use when there are elevated liver enzymes
(SGOT, SGPT), difficulty digesting fats, or during hepatitis
flare-ups. Also for mild frontal headaches after fatty meals,
for mild constipation and simple jaundice. Finally, it lowers
high bilirubin levels.
Ingredients: Milk Thistle, Toadflax,
Oregon Grape, Echinacea, Licorice, Greater Celandine,
Fringetree, Culver's root, Blue Flag.
Dose: Take 15-25 drops or one softgel two
or three times a day.
Contraindications: Not
in pregnancy.
Lobelia (Lobelia
inflata, dried herb in the bladder seed stage). Specific
for bronchial spasms as may occur in asthma. Helps decrease
craving for nicotine when quitting smoking.
Dose: Take 5-20 drops not more than three
times a day. Do not exceed recommended dosage.
Contraindications: Not
in pregnancy.
Side effects: May
cause nausea and vomiting.
Warning: Excessive
amount slows heartbeat and depresses respiration. 
Lomatium (Lomatium
dissectum, dried root). Used for lung problems, pneumonia,
flu and fevers. Lomatium shortens the duration of respiratory
viral infections. Very helpful with chronic fatigue immuno-dysfunction
syndrome (CFIDS), Epstein-Barr virus and cytomegalovirus infection.
Dose: Take 15-30 drops up to four times
a day.
Contraindications: Not
in pregnancy. Side effects: May cause skin rash.
Warning: If skin
rash occurs, cease use.
Lung
Tonic (Mullein/Horehound Complex). Specific
support for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD),
including emphysema, chronic bronchitis and asthma. Useful
for congestion, inflammation of bronchioles and lung tissue,
spasms of bronchioles and excessive production of mucus.
Helps protect against respiratory infection, soothes and
calms coughs. Ideal formula for long-term management of
lung problems.
Ingredients: Mullein, Horehound, Elecampane,
Grindelia, Echinacea, Pleurisy Root, Passionflower,
Osha, Lobelia, Yerba Santa.
Dose: Take 20-30 drops or one softgel three
times a day. Specific for long-term use. 
Lymphatonic (Echinacea/Red
Root Complex). Excellent deep acting immune system cleaner.
A must for recurring or lingering, hard to shake colds, flu,
infections and frequent minor illnesses. Use for acute swelling
of tonsils and/or lymph nodes. Specific for uterine, ovarian
or breast cysts. Speeds healing of cuts, boils, or other
poorly healing abrasions. Useful to shorten healing time of
poison ivy or poison oak infection as well as cat-scratch disease.
Ingredients: Echinacea angustifolia root,
Red Root root, Ocotillo stem, Burdock root, Chinese Licorice
root, fresh Dandelion root, Yellow Dock root, Wild Indigo
root, Blue Flag root, Stillingia root.
Dose: Take 25 drops in water or one softgel
four times a day for 15 days. For cysts, take with Red
Root liquid herbal extract, 30 drops (or a Lymphatonic™
softgel instead of the Lymphatonic™ liquid herbal extract) of each
three times a day.
