Oat
seed (Avena
sativa, fresh seed in the milky stage). One of the
best nervous system tonics available. Excellent for recuperating
from a stressful experience or after an emotional breakdown.
Helps in the withdrawal of nicotine, cocaine or opiates.
Dose: Take 25 drops three times a day.
Take for at least one month or more to achieve best
results.
Olive
Leaf (Olea europaea, dried leaf). Helpful
in the beginning of bacterial, viral and fungal infections.
Use for colds and flu, upper respiratory infection, ear
infection, sinusitis. Recent studies have shown Olive leaf
to be effective in herpes outbreaks reducing both the severity
as well as healing time. Initial results suggest that it
may be as effective as the drug acyclovir.
Dose: Take 20-40 drops three to five
times a day.
Osha (Ligusticum
porteri, dried root). A great herb at the beginning of
a cold or flu. For early stages of: sore throat, chest cold
with painful breathing, thick stringy mucus, or dry asthma.
Stimulates the immune system and prevents secondary infections.
Prevents recurrent middle ear infection in children; loosens
and expels mucus.
Dose: Take 20-40 drops three to four times
a day.
Contraindications: Not
in pregnancy.
Osha
Root Complex Syrup (Osha/Wild Cherry Complex).
Stops or calms cough. Decreases lung congestion, promotes
expectoration, and reduces inflammation of throat and bronchioles.
Soothes and slightly anesthetizes the throat.
Ingredients: Osha, Wild Cherry bark,
White Pine, Balm of Gilead, Spikenard, and Bloodroot
in a glycerin/gum arabic syrup base.
Dose: Take 1/2 to 1 teaspoon every three
to four hours. Children, two to five years old, take
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon every three to four hours.
Contraindications: Not
in pregnancy.
