Hawthorn (Crataegus spp., fresh flower, terminal leaf and berry). For heart irregularities with rapid heart beat episodes or weakness of heart muscle from poor blood supply. Prevents complications in many heart diseases, especially angina and congestive heart failure.
Dose: Take 10-20 drops up to three times a day for one month, then twice a day for an unlimited period of time.
Contraindications: Do not use with digitalis.
Warning: May potentiate the effects of digitalis, consult primary care practitioner prior to use with digitalis. Not useful for damaged heart where the damage is termed organic. Works best for functional heart problems (i.e., angina).
