The
first thing to consider in the process of stopping smoking
is
your motivation. It is my clinical experience that no amount
of herbs will make up for weak motivation, especially when
smokers are trying to quit in order to please others. If
you truly want to quit for yourself out of choice, not obligation,
then your likelihood of success dramatically increases.
Because nicotine affects the physiology of the
body in several ways, it is best to provide
herbal support in a variety of areas. This table lists
six basic areas; cravings, lung support, nervous
irritability, endocrine system, the digestive
process and
blood sugar balance. The good news is that, unlike tobacco,
none of these herbs are habit forming.
