OUR RELATIONSHIP
WITH NATURE
OUR START
Our journey began in 1969 by esteemed herbalist Michael Moore in Santa Fe, New Mexico. What began as a small apothecary has now grown into a trusted name in herbalism, guided by Daniel Gagnon (MS, RH), Michael’s former student.
We see herbal medicine as part of a larger ecosystem of care, one that includes people, plants, and the planet.
We prioritize North American herbs, plants that thrive here, grown in rhythm with the land we call home.
We work with organic, family-run farms and seasoned wildharvesters who harvest with care and have deep relationships with the ecosystems they tend.
We choose fresh (not dried) plants whenever possible for aerial parts (like leaves and flowers), because fresh means more active constituents and more potent medicine for you.
We use the whole plant, never powders to preserve the full spectrum of the plant’s wisdom and keeps its therapeutic properties intact, just the way nature intended.
OUR CRAFT
From root to bottle, we treat herbal medicine as both art and science, guided by tradition, backed by experience, and crafted with care in every step.
With the highest quality raw plants in hand, we create in small batches, using proprietary methods that ensure every extract is of exceptional potency and purity.
Our fresh plants are overnighted to our facility and extracted within 24 hours of harvest, preserving their vitality and full healing potential.
We use a cryogenic grinding process, protecting the plant’s natural properties by avoiding heat and maintaining the integrity of its constituents. Our extraction methods rely on alcohol, water, and kinetic maceration, a technique that boosts potency by up to 50%.
We use fresh herbs when volatile, delicate and fragile active constituents are needed.
Herbs, Etc. buys freshly picked herbs that are shipped overnight to us.
We use dried herbs when stable, hardy and concentrated active constituents are needed.
Herbs, Etc. buys whole dried herbs and grinds what we need when we need it, ensuring the freshest dried powder possible
