Daniel Gagnon, owner of Herbs, Etc., resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He has been a practicing Medical Herbalist since 1976. Born in French Canada, Daniel relocated to Santa Fe in 1979. There, he furthered his studies in herbalism, pharmacognosy and related subjects at the Santa Fe College of Natural Medicine and the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy. In 2004, he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Herbal Medicine from the North American College of Botanical Medicine in Albuquerque. In 2011, he completed his Master’s Degree at the Scottish School of Herbal Medicine through the University of Wales. His thesis centered on the antimicrobial effects of hops (Humulus lupulus) on methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).

His passion for helping others was born out of his own childhood health issues. His experience with orthodox medical treatments of eczema, asthma and allergies motivated him to seek more effective and gentle healing modalities, which ultimately led him on the path to becoming a medical herbalist. Daniel is an accomplished speaker and educator who regularly teaches herbal therapeutics seminars and classes, both nationally and internationally. He has served as a member of the Expert Advisor Council for the 2nd edition of the American Herbal Products Association’s (AHPA) "Botanical Safety Handbook", as well as the 3rd edition of AHPA’s "Herbs of Commerce".

Daniel is the author of the best-selling book "Liquid Herbal Drops in Everyday Use" (over 120,000 books sold to date), the updated "Practical Guide to Herbal Medicines" and co-author of "Breathe Free", a nutritional and herbal self-care book for the respiratory system. Daniel is the acting director of the Botanical Research and Education Institute in Santa Fe, which publishes herbal therapeutic educational material.
